About Malabrigo Caprino Yarn
Caprino Yarn by Malabrigo is perfect blend of Merino Wool and Cashmere. This DK weight, super soft yarn knits up nicely into warm and cozy garments. Be sure to get enough yarn to complete your project. To ensure random color distribution, work from two balls of yarn at once, alternating a few rows from each ball.

From the guides
- GuideMalabrigo: which one is which?Rios, Worsted, Arroyo, Caprino, Verano and Rasta — how the Malabrigo lines we stock differ in weight, fiber, ply, washability and yardage, which share colorways, and which to buy for a sweater, a hat, a shawl or a summer top.
- GuideCashmere and luxury fibers: what you are paying forWhy cashmere, silk, suri alpaca, yak and kid mohair cost what they do — fineness in microns, yield per animal, dehairing and hand-dyeing — what a 20% cashmere blend actually gives you compared with pure cashmere, where the money is worth spending and where it is not, how to buy luxury yarn by the yard rather than the skein, how to care for it, and the cashmere and luxury-blend lines we stock.
- GuideYarn brands we stock, and what each is known forThe 24 yarn and needle brands on our shelves, grouped by what they do best — hand-dyed merino, self-striping and gradient yarns, American and British wool, alpaca, luxury fibers, summer cottons and linens, needles — with the line to start with from each.
More from Malabrigo
Malabrigo is a family-run dye house in Uruguay, and its kettle-dyed merino is the yarn people mean when they say "hand-dyed": every skein shifts through its colourway, no two exactly alike. Rios is the plied superwash worsted — machine-washable, crisp stitch definition, the Malabrigo for sweaters that get worn hard. Malabrigo Worsted is the original single-ply: softer, loftier, non-superwash, and the one to felt.
Below worsted, Arroyo is superwash merino at a sport-DK gauge for shawls and lighter garments, Caprino blends merino with cashmere, and Verano is hand-dyed pima cotton for summer. Rasta is the super-bulky single — a hat in an evening. We keep dye lots together on every Malabrigo order and stock the colour cards knitters ask for by name.
