Agreement to these terms

This website is operated by Yarn Country, LLC ("Yarn Country", "we", "us"). By browsing this site or placing an order through it, you agree to these Terms & Conditions and to our Privacy Policy.

If you don't agree to them, please don't use the site.

We may update these terms from time to time. The version in force is the one published here on the date you place an order, and material changes will be reflected in the "last updated" date above.

Using the site

You may browse, search, and use the free patterns for personal, non-commercial purposes. You agree not to:

• use the site for any unlawful purpose, or in breach of these terms;
• scrape, harvest, or systematically download the catalog, pattern library, or images by automated means;
• attempt to gain unauthorized access to any account, server, or system connected to the site;
• interfere with the site's operation, or with anyone else's use of it;
• resell or commercially redistribute our content, photography, or pattern library.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules.

Accounts

You can check out as a guest, or create an account to keep an order history.

If you create one, you're responsible for keeping your password confidential and for activity that happens under your account. Tell us promptly if you believe someone else has gained access to it.

Accounts migrated from our previous store may need a password reset before first use. Use Forgot password with the same email address.

Products, pricing, and availability

We work hard to describe products accurately, but:

• Color varies. Screens differ, color perception is subjective, and dyed fiber varies between lots. Product photography is a good-faith representation, not an exact match, and a difference between screen and skein is not a defect. See colors and product photos.
• Stock is live but not instantaneous. An item can sell out between the page loading and your order being placed. If we can't fill an item, we'll contact you and refund it.
• Prices can change without notice, but the price shown at checkout is the price you pay for that order.

If a product is listed at an obviously incorrect price because of a typographical or system error, we may cancel the order and refund you in full rather than honor the error. We'll always tell you before doing so.

Orders and payment

Your order is an offer to buy. Our acceptance happens when we ship the goods — an order confirmation email acknowledges receipt but does not by itself form a contract of sale.

We may decline or limit an order, including where we suspect fraud, where the quantity is inconsistent with retail use, or where we cannot ship to the address given.

Payment is taken through our payment processor. We do not store full card numbers on our systems.

Sales tax

Sales tax is calculated at checkout where we are required to collect it. We ship within the United States only — see shipping & returns.

Shipping, returns, and refunds

Delivery, dye-lot matching, returns, refunds, and damaged shipments are all covered by our Shipping & Returns policy, which forms part of these terms.

Free patterns and intellectual property

The patterns in our pattern explorer are offered free for personal use. You're welcome to knit or crochet from them, including items you sell in small quantities at craft fairs and the like, provided you credit the designer where one is named.

You may not republish, resell, or redistribute the pattern files themselves, in print or online.

All other site content — text, photography, layout, logos, and the Yarn Country name — is owned by us or our licensors and may not be reproduced without written permission.

User submissions

If you send us a review, photo, question, or other material, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use it in connection with the site and our marketing. You confirm the material is yours to give and isn't unlawful or infringing. We may remove any submission at our discretion.

Third-party links

The site links to other websites — designers, mills, carriers, and the like. We don't control them and aren't responsible for their content or their privacy practices.

Disclaimers

The site and its content are provided "as is". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.

Patterns, gauge information, yardage estimates, and fiber care guidance are offered in good faith as craft advice. Results depend on your materials, tension, and technique, and we can't guarantee a particular outcome.

We don't warrant that the site will be uninterrupted or error-free.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Yarn Country's total liability arising out of or relating to your use of the site or any order is limited to the amount you paid for the goods in question.

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, including lost profits, lost time, or the cost of materials used in a project.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify Yarn Country against claims, losses, and reasonable legal costs arising from your breach of these terms or your misuse of the site.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Idaho, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The state and federal courts located in Idaho have exclusive jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer-protection law in your place of residence gives you the right to bring a claim locally.

Severability

If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in force.
