Bulky & Super Bulky Yarn

Bulky and super bulky yarn knits at 2–3 stitches to the inch on US 11–17 needles. It is the weight for a weekend blanket, a thick cowl or the kind of oversized cardigan that goes on over everything.

The yardage is low — often under 100 yards to a skein — so a blanket is measured in skeins, not ounces. The dye-lot match matters more here than anywhere: every skein is a large stretch of fabric.
