Double-Pointed Knitting Needles

Double-pointed needles come in sets of four or five and knit small circumferences — socks, mittens, glove fingers and the crown of a hat — where a circular needle's cable is too long.

Bamboo and wood grip the stitches so they do not slide off the idle needles; 8" is the standard length, with shorter sets for gloves.
