Lopi is the Icelandic wool, spun by Ístex in Iceland from the fleece of the island's own sheep, and Álafoss Lopi is the classic chunky weight that the yoke-patterned lopapeysa sweater is knit in. It is a loosely spun, two-coat wool: the long outer hairs shed water and the soft undercoat holds warmth, so a Lopi sweater is windproof in a way merino never is. It felts hard and fast, blocks beautifully, and the traditional heathered and natural palette is all here.
