About Juniper Moon Herriot Yarn
Herriot Yarn by Juniper Moon Farm is soft and squishy, 100% Baby Alpaca. This worsted weight alpaca is hypoallergenic, as silky and soft as cashmere, and warmer and lighter than wool. Herriot yarn is pleasant to knit with and has an excellent stitch definition, works perfect for warm and cozy garments and accessories.

Juniper Moon Farm makes the yarns we sell most of, and it is easy to see why: each line is built around one good idea. Cumulus is a blown cotton — a fine nylon mesh filled with Mako cotton — so it weighs half what a worsted cotton usually does and knits into tees and summer cardigans that do not sag. Zooey is a rustic cotton-linen DK that softens with every wash. Herriot is 100% baby alpaca at a worsted gauge, the warmest thing on the shelf for its weight.
The farm's wool lines are worth knowing too. Moonshine Fine blends alpaca, wool, nylon and silk into a sock-and-shawl DK; Rambouillet is American-spun extrafine merino; Bluefaced Leicester has the lustre of the longwool it is named for. Bud, a chunky cotton slub, is the quick summer project. Juniper Moon is distributed in the US by Knitting Fever, and we carry the full colour cards on the lines above.
