Organic Yarn

Organic yarn is spun from fibre grown without synthetic pesticides or fertilisers, and usually processed with low-impact dyes — Blue Sky's Organic Cotton is the best known. It knits like any other cotton or wool; the difference is in how it was farmed.

For the lowest footprint of all, look for undyed naturals, which skip the dye bath entirely.
