Zauberball Crazy is Schoppel Wolle's two-ply gradient sock yarn: each ply runs its own long colour change, so the fabric marls and shifts through the ball without stripes ever repeating. One 100 g ball is a pair of socks; two make a shawl that fades end to end.
Zauberball Crazy Yarn by Schoppel Wolle is a unique fingering weight superwash wool with a touch of nylon. Zauberball Crazy has two strands of the main ply dyed individually and then twisted together for a crazy combination! The result is a self-striping multi-colored pattern, with a bold variegated design!

Schoppel Wolle is a family mill in southern Germany with one trademark: the long, slow colour gradient. Zauberball Crazy is the famous one — a two-ply sock yarn where each ply runs its own gradient, so the fabric marls and shifts through the ball without repeating. Zauberball Starke 6 is the same idea at a DK gauge, Zauberball Crazy Cotton the organic-cotton version, and Edition 3 a three-ply extrafine merino that fades through three shades a ball.
The solids are as good as the gradients. Ambiente is a superwash merino sock yarn, Reggae a soft single-ply merino at aran weight, In-Silk a merino-silk worsted, and El Linio pure linen for summer. Schoppel comes to the US through Skacel, and we carry the range in depth.
